Electronic Arts is said to be exploring a sale, with several private equity firms interested in the big-name games publisher.
EA has been approached by private-equity firms KKR and Providence Equity Partners about a potential sell off, the New York Post reports although the paper’s source says it is “early days”, while all involved declined to comment on the story.
EA, publisher of games including Rock Band and the Fifa series, is the world’s third largest games publisher behind Nintendo and Activision Blizzard. However, it is said to have struggled with the decline of console gaming and the rise of mobile and social games, despite success with Facebook game SimCity Social.
